April Favorites

Hey everyone!

It's the end of April and today I'm going to show you my April favorites. These are all beauty products.

Sorry for the bad picture, but I couldn't get everything into one picture unless I turned the camera (well my iPod actually but...) upside down. Also the lighting was hitting the products kind of weird, but whatever.

EYE PRODUCTS:
Eyeliner from Wet N Wild, mine is the color Charcoal. I really like this basic charcoal color, it's great for not only your lash line but your waterline too! Except it does fade off your waterline after a while, but so do most eyeliners.
Liquid eyeliner from Sally Girl. Mine is just a plain old simple brown. This eyeliner has become my new favorite and I've used for three days in a row!
Covergirl Lash Exact lengthening mascara. This mascara is my favorite mascara-ever! I don't like volume mascaras, only lengthening ones, so this one is perfect. It has a lot of mascara in it and has lasted me for a few months using it everyday and I'm still nowhere near done with it. You don't even need eye makeup remover, it comes off with just water.
Claire's eye glitz. This is just glitter for your eyes. I like it, but the only thing is it that it doesn't go on very easily without taking away part of the shadow beneath it. So then you have to reapply the eyeshadow which then covers up a good portion of the glitter. But I do love this glitter palette, because it has so many colors and the colors look really good on my eyes.
LIPS: Baby Lops my Maybelline lipstick/chapstick. I really love this, but I can't decide if it's a lipstick or chapstick! It moisturizes my lips really well, but it colors like a lipstick. I guess maybe it's a tinted lip balm?
Peppermint flavored Chapstick. It's my all time favorite Chapstick. It might of been a limited edition because I got it a few years ago during Christmas time, but I still have a lot left and it's not moldy (I've never seen moldy Chapstick though...) or gross or anything.
NAILS:
PURE ICE nail polish. This is light light coral colored pink and could be used for the base of a french manicure if you wanted a darker toned light pink. It's number 795CP, China Girl. I currently have this color on my finger nails and love it.
Wet N Wild nail polish. I've had this pink color for a long time and the writing has worn off so I can't tell the number or the exact shade, but during late March early April I rediscovered the color and love it. It's a very pretty pink, looks great on fingers and toes, but especially pretty on my toes. :)
Sinful Colors nail polish. This is number 922, Frenzy. It's a purple/blue glittery nail polish. I love it!
Sally Hansen Hard As Nails Xtreme Wear nail polish. This is in number 200, Strobe Light. It's a pink tinted glittery nail polish. You can tell I love it, because I've used half the bottle.

Thanks so much for reading my April Favorites! I'm sorry I didn't have any face products in this favorites, but any face products I got during April I've gotten within the last week and haven't had a ton of time to explore them. So sorry about that!

What are your favorite April products? Have you tried any of the products listed above? What did you think? Let me know in the comments below! :)

Ulta Beauty Haul

Hey everyone!

This afternoon I was at Ulta Beauty and picked up a few things. I only got three things, I was on a quick time schedule, but that didn't stop me from grabbing some awesome beauty products! Today I actually took pictures, yes I took pictures. I didn't find them on Google or anything, I actually took them. They aren't the best quality since I took them in the sunlight from my iPod, but they're better then nothing. Next to each picture I'll list what it is and why I got it. Also, I know a lot of beauty bloggers/vloggers don't use the product until after they post their haul. Yeah, well I didn't follow that rule exactly. I didn't use the first one, but the last two I did use.

These are just your basic cleansing and exfoliating facial sponges. They were by the checkout and in order to reach ten dollars to get my $3.50 off (I had a coupon) and these were only a dollar. So I figured why not. I've never exfoliated before, so I'll see if I like it or not. The price of these were $1.19.

This is a NYX lipstick in the shade Peach Bellini, the number is 593A. It's your basic coral lipstick. I've heard a lot of good things about this lipstick on YouTube and wanted to try out some of NYX's lipsticks. I really love this lipstick and it is BEAUTIFUL. The only negative thing I would say about it is that kind of dry, if that's the word. It's not creamy like a lot of other lipsticks are. The price of the lipstick is $3.99 which I think is on the cheap side. :)

This is a tinted moisturizer with an SPF of 15. It's by some company I've never heard of called geoGIRL. To me it sounds like some makeup brand for 8 year olds or something, but they had a lot of what I consider 'big girl makeup' they had concealers, tinted moisturizers, mascaras and even brow gels. So, I don't know. Anyways I needed a tinted moisturizer, this one I saw and liked so I bought it. The shade is medium which matched my skin pretty good. It cost $5.39.

Do you guys own any of these items? How do you like them? I know I did a sort of mini review on most of them, but do you want reviews on any of them? If so please tell me in the comments below.

Free Lotion!

Hey guys!

Today I wanted to share something that I found last night when I was looking around a bunch of blogs. Bath and Body works is giving away free lotion! All you have to do is go to their Facebook page, scroll down just a little bit and then hit 'get offer.'

They will send an email to whatever email your Facebook account is linked to and then you print out that paper and take it to your nearest Bath and Body Works. Then they should give you a free lotion.

I haven't gotten the lotion yet, they just sent me the email, but I wanted to let all of you know before it's to late. This offer expires tonight, so hurry up!

A Question For All Of You + How I Started Wearing Makeup

Hey everyone!

Today I stumbled upon a quiz book, it had lots of fun questions in it. Some of them were typical questions, like summer or winter? And Coke or Pepsi? But one that I saw was really cool. The question was Do you open your mouth when you put your mascara on? I had honestly never thought about that before. I asked my Mom, and she said that she thought that everybody did and that she knows that she opens her mouth. But, me? That thought had never even crossed my mind.

But......now that I think about it. Yes. I do open my mouth when I put my mascara on. I think it would be kind of hard not to open your mouth and put mascara on. And the funny thing is, I was never taught by anybody to put mascara on. I never had a teacher, my Mom (or Aunt, Grandma or anybody) show me how to put it on. I never read a book or watched a video that showed anybody putting it on.

I was about 10, maybe 9. And I had gotten a makeup kit from Claire's as a Christmas or birthday present. I stuffed it under the sink in my bathroom thinking it was all 'baby makeup' as I called it. And what I had seen had been, all sparkly kids nail polish, and eyeshadows way to bright for any person in their right mind to wear. But then one day, I opened back up the kit and and found a mini eyeliner and mini mascara tube. I was in shock, well not shock, but something like that. I had always wanted to wear what I called 'big girl makeup' and now was my chance. It wasn't that I was't allowed to, or something like that, but I never had any. I could use my Mom's on occasion, but she didn't want to share with me all of her makeup. So I put the mascara on, and for a while it was a 'special event' kind of makeup. I would only wear it to weddings, family reunions and when I went somewhere I considered special, such as out to dinner. Before I wore the mascara that one day, the only makeup I ever wore was lip gloss, eyeshadow (mostly tans and light light browns) and sometimes blush. But it was little kid makeup and was nothing serious. Once I turned about 11 or so, my makeup collection began to grow. For Christmas and my birthday I was getting more clothes and makeup then I was toys and electronics. My brother (yes him of all people) bought me my first lip-liner (which was a really dark brown and I only used once) but at least he was trying. For Christmas one year I got my first serious makeup kit. It was a Sinful  Colors makeup kit. It had three eyeshadow palettes, one 'lip paint' as I call it palette, and two mini eyeliners. I starting wearing a gold sparkly (I do love sparkles!) eyeshadow everyday along with a lip gloss or Chapstick. Then I began to get a little more serious with my makeup. I wore the mascara everyday, and somewhere around that time I started wearing blush everyday. At this time it was a pink cream blush I had gotten from a yard sale (I know it's disgusting... but whatever. I was little.) I didn't know it at the time, but that early love for beauty would lead me to what I am today, sorry if I sound lie some professor or something, Miss Sparkle. Shortly after that, about the time I turned twelve, the mascara was almost gone. And I was kind of scared to ask my Mom to take me to the store and buy some, so instead I put it on my birthday list. Thankfully, I got my wish. From my uncle, a very nice guy. He bought me the mascara from Hard Candy. It was perfect for me then, I loved it. I used every last drop in that bottle. Then when it was gone, my Mom knew I was getting more serious about makeup, so I asked her to take me to Target and get a new mascara. She did and I found one for 99 cents. I promise it wasn't that long ago, it was just a really small bottle. It was called N.Y.C Skyrise Lengthening mascara, it was awesome. I freaked out because my eyelashes looked so long, I thought everyone around me would know they were fake or that I had makeup on. Which I wasn't sure I wanted everyone to know, because not very many of my friends were wearing makeup yet. Luckily nobody really noticed me wearing makeup, well at least not my art teacher. Because when we were doing self portraits he said "See, Miss Sparkle has really long eyelashes," when he was pointing out different facial features. By the time I was 12 and a half, probably four months away from my thirteen birthday, I had established a full makeup routine. I wore blush, lipstick, mascara and eyeshadow every single day. And sometimes I would wear eyeliner depending on where I was going. If I had a special event I was going to, I would wear it or if I wanted to seem really grown up. But then about a month after I turned thirteen, I started wearing eyeliner pretty much everyday. I experimented with where I was putting it. First I tried on my lid, but that always got up almost to my brow and was all smudged. Then I tried my waterline. That was perfect. For a week. And then I got upset with how it always came off and smudged and made me look like I had really dark under eye circles. So then I went back to putting it on my lid. I watched a few videos on how to put on eyeliner on YouTube and it worked like a charm. I tried keeping my open, instead of pulling it down (which I think creates wrinkles, but I'm not 100 percent sure) and it worked perfectly.

To this day, it's still how I wear my makeup.

Sorry this was such a long post, but please tell me. Do you open your mouth when you put on mascara? And how did you start wearing makeup? I would love to know. Also, do you like these personal posts? I mean this is still going to be a beauty blog and everything, but did you enjoy knowing more about when I was younger? If so please tell me.

Thanks for reading!

Fashionable Friday

Hi guys!

Recently I have been loving matching my nail polish to my outfit. Of course I don't have enough time in the morning to change my nail color every single morning, so I try and pick a color that would work with a lot of outfits. For example, today I'm wearing plain old blue jeans and red shirt with cream/pink colored lace around the neckline and the hem of the shirt. Nothing special really.  So what color would be good for my nails? A cream or pink color might be nice, but tomorrow when I wear a blue tank top, that's just going to look kind of weird. So my answer is purple.

I put on a very pretty purple from L.A Colors.  The shade I'm wearing is in the color Purple Ice.

Okay..... so maybe purple _is_ my favorite color and I would wear it everyday if I could, but that might look weird if I wear the same nail color for the rest of my life.

But that's not my point. My point is to try and coordinate nail polish colors with your fashionable clothes.  Since my shirt is such a dark red color, the deep purple makes the outfit look complete. For example, tomorrow I'm going to wear a blue tank top and the purple will match the purple flowers on the tank top. Today it enhances the color of what I'm wearing, and tomorrow it matches it.

I hope this post was helpful!
I would of posted pictures of my outfit or nail polish, but I'm on vacation and can't really take any pictures and save them to a computer that isn't mine. Sorry!

Love,
Miss Sparkle!

Wonderstruck by Taylor Swift Perfume Review

Hey everyone!

Today I have a review for you on the perfume Wonderstruck by Taylor Swift.
 Photo from blog.flauntme.com

The perfume I overall like love. It is said to have hints of vanilla, green tea, freesia, dewberry, raspberry, apple blossom, honeysuckle, Hawaiian blanket, peach, musk, hibiscus and sandalwood. Out of those 12 scents, the strongest I would have to say are vanilla, raspberry and freesia. It smells very young and warming to me. I would wear it everyday, but it cost around $50 and I don't want to use it all up in one day. So instead I wear it about once a week. I love the packaging, it's so darling! In the one set that I got it comes with two purse size ones, except they're the ones that roll onto your wrist.

Overall I love this perfume and highly reccomend it.

Sorry For Slacking On Blogging! AND My Fave YouTubers

Hi everyone!

I am so sorry I have been slacking on blogging lately, but first it was Easter, and then I've been spending time with my family and trying out a lot of new beauty products, so I haven't had time to blog recently. But expect a few posts this week!

But in the mean time I figured I would share some of my favorite beauty/fashion bloggers on YouTube. These are in no order, but just what popped into my head. They will be linked to their channel.

Wet N Wild Beauty Haul

Hi everyone!

So today I was Target. I needed a few new beauty products and had a giftcard to Target, so I figured why not just go there? I personally think their selection is better (and cleaner looking) then Wal-Mart's so I normally go to Target when I need beauty products. This is a really short haul since I only got 3 items, but I'll share them anyways. I didn't mean to get all Wet N Wild products, but them and N.Y.C are the cheapest brands at Target and I am on beauty budget, so I bough their products.

1. I got a clear nail polish. I only have half a bottle of clear nail polish in my nail polish bin and decided that it would be a good move to go ahead and buy another one so one day I won't be completely out. I seriously don't know how I got down to only half a bottle (I normally have like 3) but yeah.
2. I got an eye/lip pencil sharpener. I needed a sharpener so I picked one up.
3. I got a pencil eyeliner. Most of you guys know that I don't like pencil eyeliners very much. But I'm starting to change my mind on them. I used to hate them because you had to sharpen them and even though it only takes a minute I don't have a ton of spare time in my day and stuck with what I call 'marker' eyeliners. But those don't stay a sharp point. So I think I'm changing my mind on pencil eyeliners. Anyways, I have a pencil eyeliner in almost every color that I need (black, blue and brown) at my house, but I didn't have any gray. So I picked one up in the shade of Charcoal and the number 655.

If you guys would like a review on any of these products please say so in the comments below.

Love,
Miss Sparkle!

What's In My Wednesday?

Hi everyone!

Today I'm starting a new series- What's In My Wednesday? It's a series where I go throw one of my items and show you what's in with out taking anything out. Today I'm doing a what's in my purse post.

I did not look through my purse first or anything, so this a pure what's in my purse post.

First, my purse is a black bag from Justice (I know it's a store for 8 year old's but....) that has a rainbow peace sign on it with beads hanging down. It's actually really cute. :)

So now for the inside of my purse.....
My wallet. Mine is a cute little rainbow heart wallet.
A little notebook for me to write down notes or whatever. If I'm at the store I can record beauty products I want from stores or when I'm bored in the car or whatever I can doodle, etc.
Mini hand sanitizer. This one is from Bath and Body Works and is in the scent Fresh Picked Strawberries.
White rose scented room spray, it's really for your room but I use it as a travel perfume. I got it for Christmas one years so I don't know where I got it.
Jelly Belly flavored lip balm, in the flavor Cotton Candy.
Lice protecting spray. I was given this as a free sample from a person at the mall, threw it in my purse and never took it out. It's pretty cool though, it's 2 FL OZ of spray.
Water Babies mini purse size/travel size sunscreen. SPF of 50.
A mini first aid kit I got from some expo or booth at the state fair or something.
2 packs of 5 gum, Cobalt I guess. I don't know what it's really called, but it tastes like peppermint.
3 pens I got from various hotels I've stayed at and businesses I've gone to.
Extra Dessert Delights gum in the flavor Mint Chocolate Chip.
Another mini hand sanitizer from Bath and Body Works. This scent is in Midnight Pomegrante.
Jolly Rancher watermelon flavored lipbalm.
Extra Fruit Sensations gum in strawberry banana (or some flavor like that, I ripped the writing off it by accident.)
A mini magnifying glass I got from some expo or state fair or something.
2 mini mirrors, one I don't know where I got and one I decorated and was purchased from The Dollar Tree.
Wonderstruck by Taylor Swift mini roll travel size perfume.
Blistex Silk & Shine lip balm. (I highly reccomend this!)

Well that's it. Thanks for reading! And what's in your purse?

Dramatic Blue Eye Tutorial

Hi everyone!

So I don't have a picture to post of myself with this dramatic blue eye because I don't like the idea of posting pictures of myself online, but I will put the tutorial up anyways.

I think this look looks a lot like a cheerleader from a high school I think.

Here is the tutorial:

1. Prime your eye with either a primer with sparkles in it or a glittery lip gloss. Even though lip gloss may not be primer, it works for this look.
2. Put on the lightest blue eyeshadow you own. All the eyeshadow I'm using is from a unnamed Claire's palette. Blend in circular motions with your finger.
3. Put on a medium colored tropical blue eyeshadow and blend that in with your finger. Circular motions work best.
4. Put on the darkest blue eyeshadow in your crease and either blend in with a makeup brush, the applicator from the eyeshadow palette (if your using a palette) or your finger might work. I used the applicator f that came with the palette.
5. Get either eye glitter (I recommend Eye Glitz by Claire's) or a blue sparkly liquid eyeliner and just dab in the middle of your lid. I used the eyeliner. If you use either a wet glitter or the liquid eyeliner let it dry a minute and then rub it into your lid using your fingers.
6. Get a navy blue eyeliner and line your top and bottom lash line. Any navy blue eyeliner will work, but I'm using number 294 by NYC. The color is In The Navy. For this look I prefer pencil eyeliner even though I would normally use a marker eyeliner.
7. After lining your eye, add some triangle shaped wings towards the end.
8. Put on one gentle coat of mascara. Only swipe across your eyes once or twice, maybe three times depending on the volume of your lashes. I used Lash Exact by Covergirl.
9. Wipe of any excess glitter or eyeshadow.

Now, what to pair it with? I like pairing this look with gentle rosy pink cheeks and bright neon pink lips.

I hope you enjoyed this look! Please if you try this out and feel comfortable leaving a picture of yourself in the comments with the look on, please do so! I would love to see if it turned out on other people!

One Challenge Complete, Another Started

Hi everyone!

Some of you may know this, but during the month of March I went on a no soda challenge. That's right, for 31 days I didn't drink any soda. Why would I want to do this you ask? Because flat out, soda is bad for you. It has SO much sugar, SO much sodium and chemicals that your body really doesn't need. I used to drink soda 4-5 times a week, and during March I didn't drink it all. Soda also replaces the most important drink ever created- water. During this time where I didn't drink any soda I didn't just drink water. I'll admit that. I tried everything that was flavored, Vitamin Waters, juices, lots of milk, Ice (a carbonated drink but is not soda) and a few other things. Nothing was as bubbly or carbonated as soda, but it didn't matter. Not drinking soda for the entire month of March made me feel better. I was less tired and lazy all the time, I was more active. Also, one of the most important things is that by drinking soda, you're wearing down your bones. Did you know that kids today have the same bones as 80 year olds? And that's not just from drinking soda, but eating so much sugary and processed foods.

So here comes the big question. Did I cheat at all? Yes. I did. But I have good reasons! I only cheated twice, during the middle of the month. Once on my birthday (which I had food poisoning on my birthday and was puking my guts out!) because I needed the bubbles AND it was a special occasion, and two the day after my birthday and the day after I was sick. From having all the acid go up and down my throat I needed some bubbles to refresh that.

So am I going to continue not drinking soda? The answer to that is sort of. I on average eat out once a week, and most of the time what do you get there? SODA. During March I drank the lemonade and water at restaurants, but now am I going to drink soda? Sometimes, maybe every other time. And when I'm at home am I going to buy Diet Pepsi's and Dr Pepper's and drink a can a day? No. If it's my birthday or I'm sick, I will drink soda. And if I have friends over for a bonfire (or whatever) and we're having soda will I drink it? Probably. I am going to LIMIT my consumption though.

Okay, so now that I'm done with no soda March, I have decided to start a new challenge. I saw this on TV this morning and decided it sounded cool. Not only can it be good for the environment, but it's really good for you too! Every day in April, you have to ride a bike. It doesn't matter if you ride to the end of your driveway and back, or to the supermarket to get your groceries and back. You just have to get on a bike and pedal a little bit each day this month. Have I started yet? Yup. I biked around my neighborhood this morning and probably biked for about two miles. If you want to do this challenge but can't ride a bike or don't own a bike, go to a gym and hop on stationary bike! I would say that counts!

I am not sure I will be able to personally complete this challenge though, as I have plans to spend a weekend away from home (and I'm not cramming my bike into the car) so yeah. Also me and my family might be taking a road trip too, so I'm not sure if I will be able to complete this challenge.

Thanks so much for reading. Please let me know if you have or am doing any of these challenges! And sorry this isn't a beauty post, but beauty is your entire body, not just your face. So I thought you guys might like to hear about this.

Love,
Miss Sparkle!
